These are businesses I have personally engaged and been happy with. This is my genuine opinion based on my own experience - I am not paid to list anyone here.
Murphy Plumbing and Gas
I engaged Murphy Plumbing and Gas to replace a broken hot water system at my previous property. The price was very reasonable, installation was prompt, and both the quality of work and the service were excellent. A straightforward, fair experience - exactly what you'd hope for from a tradesperson.
SJK Collective
I have used SJK Collective for some light electrical and plumbing work, and they were fantastic. Prices were very reasonable and they were genuinely great to deal with - clear, upfront quoting, and none of the "disappear to the van to talk to the office" routine. Just honest, straightforward service.
More recommendations will be added here as I use and can genuinely vouch for other Brisbane trades.

- Queensland Office of Fair Trading - lodge a consumer complaint and request free conciliation with a business.
- Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) - low-cost resolution of consumer and minor civil disputes.
- Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) - licensing and standards for plumbing and building work; check a licence or lodge a complaint.
- Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) - the national consumer protection regulator.
